A variety of prey awaits you, from Water Fowl to Upland Game Birds and from Rabbits to Moose
River Edge offers a healthy population of Moose and deer, although at present there is no non-resident deer season. We do have opportunities for Ontario residents in both the rifle and bow season. Moose season for archery begins in mid September and generally runs three weeks in length. The gun season for moose for non-residents begins on the second Monday of October and runs into mid November. Plan your next non-resident moose hunting trip at River Edge Outfitters. Early season archery during the rut and late season rifle hunts in the snow are a favourite of many, but the mid season hunts over water or cutover walking have proven to be just as successful.
There are many options for our moose hunts. From a drive in tent camp to a fly in hunt to a remote lake, River Edge Outfitters has the ability to accommodate almost any variation of hunt that you can think of. River Edge Outfitters guided hunts have generally been 80% successful and for the archery and rifle hunters joining us for the first time we recommend a guide. This recommendation comes from both the vastness of the area and your limited time here. Your guide pre scouts the area before your arrival and their efforts will be invaluable for making your time hunting more productive. Our unguided hunts have been typically in the 50% success rate range.
River Edge Outfitters offers a place to hang your meat until you leave and we will assist you with familiarization of both regulations and licensing, as well as maps or other information that you may need to make your trip a success. We also accommodate groups of hunters that are from Ontario that have tags for our area or were not successful in their own area draw and are looking for adult tags to make their hunt more enjoyable.
We are generally open for moose hunters until mid December.
If you need tags call as early as possible as the supply is limited.
